Saturday Night Alive

This saturday at the Marina (Saturday at 6:00 at the Edenton Marina 621 West Queen St beside Griggs Lumber). is "Saturday Night Alive". It is definitely different from your idea of a traditional church service. There is lots of music (not traditional music like hymns), a short message, and refreshments afterwards. As many of you know, this is a chance for you to get some points for youth group as well. The points are really close right now between some of you and this is a great opportunity to pull ahead.

Election Day - Youth Cancelled

Hi everyone,

We did not realize youth fell on Election Day. I want all the "Youthers" to stay home and watch history being made. While watching please pray for our nation and our future leaders that they'll follow the bible and Jesus. Like the Lord's prayer says "your will be done on earth as it is in heaven" (Matthew 6:9-13)

Please pass this info around to as many CrossRoaders as possible.

Next Tuesday is Veterans Day, we'll be meeting that day, especially since that is the last Tuesday before the Fall Youth Rally mentioned below. You can still register to go for $12.50 but we are past the free t-shirt deadline.

Don't forget

Times ticking away. Some of you guys are doing great earning points and I want to encourage you to keep that momentum going. Remember you need at least 50 points to even be considered. There are so many ways to earn points and as some you have learned, sometimes you can negotioate ways to earn even more. Keep it going and remember to do your Exploring the Bible Daily sheets, and just telling me (you can even read it) what the daily blog scripture is. Those points add up fast.

Upcoming events

This saturday 20th of September you guys can get caught up on what is happening in the FUEL2 saga. Come at 5pm to 507 Rockfish St. and bring your own snack. You are welcome to bring food for other people if you want too.

27th September will be demolition day for the youth room. We know this is also the AWANA conference day. If you can come out and lend a helping hand please show upat the church from 9am til noon. ALL skill levels, man, woman, boy, or girl are welcome. Get your parents guardians and whoever else 6th grade and up invloved.

Saturday Night Alive

"Saturday Night Alive" is this weekend at 6:00 at the Edenton Marina (beside Griggs Lumber on West Queen St.)

For those of you that haven't been before "SNA" is great time to get together and passionately worship Jesus!

It usually goes to 7:30 and then there is food & fellowship. Enjoy great music and a fresh word.

Description: Friday 14th 7pm-10pmSaturday 15th 10am-3pm
Featuring Craig Tacket & Jonathan Project of Inlightened Ministries (www.inlightenedministries.com/) and Illusionist Drew Wosham (http://www.drewworsham.com/).

Open to all Youth in grades 6-12th and Chaperones

$25 per person (includes an "iFollow" t-shirt)
Space is limited, so be sure to pre-register!

Last Year we made this our Yearly lock in opportunity. If you wouldl like to have a lock-in this year please talk to you parents about being chaperones and have them contact us.

Earning Points

Throughout this quarter you will have TONS of opportunities to earn points towards an awesome prize.
Here is a run down of the things you can do to earn points and how much they are worth:

Teusday Attendance (must be on time to count) = 1pt
EBD (exploring the Bible daily worksheets) = 2pts per day
Memory Verses = 5pts
Bring Bible = 1pt
Bring Friend = 1pt
give away a Bible (you can get Bibles from us) = 1pt
Youth rally attendance = 1pt
Participation (games, songs, and discussions) = 3pts
Volunteering (includes table/chair set up, taking out trash, helping clean up after youth meetings........) = 2 pts per activity
SNA (Saturday Night Alive) attendance = 1pt
Sunday Worship Attendance = 1 pt
Sunday School Attendance = 1pt

You must have a minimum of 50 points to be considered for a prize and the person with the most points over 50 wins. If you think of other great ways to earn points then let us know and we will consider adding them to the list. Have fun! :)
